The School Day

The School Day for our Sixth Formers and Foundation students is not your typical 5 days a week, 9am - 4pm as schools usually deliver.

Our sixth formers will do classes when the appropriate class for them is scheduled and the specialist teacher is available.  Therefore they could be taking classes in the evenings or even at weekends, as well as the usual working day, especially if they wish to do very specific specialist training.

This means that our full-time students can experience a flexible curriculum to meet their individual needs.  We have the opportunity for individual support and guidance, to work within small class sizes while still working with and enjoying friendships with the wider Jam community of over 400 students.

Weekly classes are between 18 – 22 hours a week, and many of the classes are streamed. The environment is more like a serious drama or dance school than that of a school or Further Education college.  We are therefore a fantastic environment for young adults to mature, take responsibility of their own learning and prepare for the next step into Higher Education.

Typically our students will train with us for 2 – 3 years. However, some mature students will only spend a year with us before moving to dance, drama or music schools at higher education level.

The full-time students have at least 2 trips a term to work-related performances, open days or exhibitions.

AS YOU TRAIN & DEVELOP,

YOUR PASSIONS MAY CHANGE.

WE CAN BE FLEXIBLE &

WORK AROUND THAT!

– NOT MANY SCHOOLS CAN!
